CRESSY AERODROME AUSTRALIA DAY 2024 EVENT

Welcome back everyone.

Well, 2024 has gotten of to a great start with a few Tiger Moth flights on the weekend, and a good number of people taking the opportunity to have a look at the old RAAF Base.

We have lots planned for this year, and encourage you to keep an eye out on our page, we don’t want you to miss out on anything.

Late last year we posted a couple of stories regarding two pilots whom trained at Cressy, with one of them being killed in an accident near King Island. The latest regarding the crash of A9-304 (Beaufort Bomber) at this stage, is that a survey has been conducted and divers were about to check the site very soon.

We will continue to follow this story, but please feel free to follow the ‘Fallen Diggers Association” they are the ones leading this search and would appreciate your support.

The Cressy Water Tower is about to get a new paint job, well, actually, it’s getting some murals painted onto it.

It is very exciting what is planned, and we have no doubt it will attract many travelers.

You can follow the progress of the Mural/s by checking out the “Cressy Water Tower Mural” Facebook page.

“Millie”, our Tiger Moth continues to provide much joy to those who come to go for a fly in her. Scenic flights over the surrounding district and lakes are something to behold. Bookings are essential, and gift voucher for flights are available.

Our first event for this year will be held on the 26th of January, Australia Day.

We are looking forward to opening the gates for you all, and give you chance to have a look at the old RAAF base and our aircraft.

More information about this event will be posted soon.

Looking forward to seeing you all sometime this year.

AUSTRALIA DAY 2023

Restore Lake Pedder Commemorative flight

September 2022

Millie, the Tiger Moth based at Cressy Aerodrome in Victoria has embarked on an incredible flight.

A flight that has seen her and the support crew fly over Bass Strait to Hobart in Tasmania, to start a commemorative flight.

50th years ago, a Tiger Moth and its pilot, Max Price, and passenger, Brenda Hern went missing whilst making their way to Canberra to raise awareness about the plight of Lake Pedder, and it is this flight that is being commemorated.

Millie and the team have now made their way back to the mainland and are looking at the flight onto their final destination, Canberra.

We must thank our sponsor IOR Aviation for their role in this historic flight.

Remembrance Day 2022

To commemorate Remembrance Day 2022, Cressy Aerodrome is offering two seats, (One in each Tiger Moth) to take part in a fly-over for the Colac and Inverleigh Remembrance Day service.

For the lucky two, you will need to be at the Cressy Aerodrome no later than 9.30am to be a part of these flights.
